Wow what a weekend! I just got word that the film Dark Of The Night played at the International Horror Hotel film festival and I won an award for Best Ohio Cinematography.

Award For Best Ohio Cinematography

I feel very lucky and honored to be recognized but this award couldn’t have happened with the support of the cast and crew. Best of all the film also won Best Ohio Film, Best Ohio Directors (KC Allen and Tj Cooley), Best Ohio Lead Actor (Randy R Fabert) and an Honorable Mention.

The International Horror Hotel Film Festival and Convention

The International Horror Hotel Film Festival and Convention is held every June in Ohio. I was also nominated for Best Ohio Cinematography for another film I shot in 2016 titled Down the Stairs. It was nominated for Best Ohio Director Linda Gabriele, Best Ohio Actor Jonathan Hodges, Best Ohio Actress Audrey Stith, and Christopher Butturff for Best Ohio Supporting Actor. Actress Audrey Stith won an award for Best Ohio Actress.

Go to The Horror Hotels website to see the other nominations and winners.

International Horror Hotel Film Festival

Horror is one of my favorite genres to shoot and both of the films have a different approach.

About the Films

Dark of the Night is a short film about Devon Darke is a paranormal pod-caster who accepts a challenge to live in a notoriously haunted house for one year.

Down The Stairs is a short film about Clayton Carver, He is having a great deal of trouble communicating with his young daughter Maddy. Rendered mute by a horrific trauma, Maddy has difficulty expressing herself. Frustrated to the brink, Clayton handles the situation the only way he knows how and reality begins to spiral out of control.

You can get more info on both films by checking out their IMDb Page Dark of the Night and Down The Stairs. I also did a blog on Down The Stairs screening, you can check it out here.

Both films have been entered more film festivals and I would expect to see more awards to come.
